Inspired by the amazing Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen books by Garth Nix, here are wearable versions of the beautiful Paperwing crafts used by Abhorsens, royalty and Clayr alike.
Shaped like slim canoes, with hawk-wings and tails, the Paperwings are built using thousands of sheets of laminated paper and imbued with Charter magic so that they can ride air currents and fly great distances.
Each earring is 50mm x 45.9mm, so they’re quite the statement pieces, and are presented on an illustrated backing card that's covered with shiny, metallic keys.
The earrings are made from my illustration of a Paperwing, produced in silver plated metal with blue enamel and white, screen printed detailed patterns on the wings and tail. They have fish hook style attachments to keep them securely in place. There is also a clear epoxy resin coating over each earring to protect it from scratches and give it a smooth, lustrous finish.
Every item is carefully packed and sent by me from my home in Nottingham, United Kingdom, using eco-friendly materials!
